How to get employed in an international firm?
Currently,I know English, Manadarin(used in China) and
Cantonese(used in Hong Kong). I’m planning to study business at the university of wisconsin-madison and also to learn french in probably, 2 yrs time.
I want to work in an international firm so is french useful in helping me to get into one? Would spanish be more useful than french? how about Japanese?
Upon graduation, do I have high chances of getting employed?
Note: I do not wish to work as a translator. I want to organise projects all around the world which requires me to use my language skills when communiciating with my business partners.
THere is some time before you need to get your mind around employment but you are right to get into options asap. Go for project management and sales. Get in contact with multi-national companies and research their requirement for sales and PM staff. Look especially at companies colaborating with the emerging China markets. Email their HR manager and ask for an introduction to get onto their grad schemes.
